Pakistani Women dealing with ADHD.

Editorial Illustrations

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Medicinal Media on a project close to my heart - shedding light on the journey of Pakistani women seeking assessment for ADHD.

It was an eye-opening experience to delve into this topic and highlight the often-overlooked struggles faced by women dealing with ADHD in #Pakistan. Through our work, we aimed to raise awareness and foster understanding about this important issue.

I am immensely grateful for the chance to contribute to this meaningful project and to amplify the voices of those who too often go unheard. Let's continue to advocate for greater recognition and support for individuals with ADHD, regardless of their background or location. Together, we can make a difference. 💪

The header illustration shows a Pakistani woman in traditional clothing, subtly representing Pakistani culture. She holds a sign to raise awareness that women also deal with ADHD, breaking the stereotype that it only affects men. The illustration is not gender-specific and highlights imperfection in individuals. It incorporates symbols related to ADHD, such as pills, scattered papers, puzzles, and a fidget spinner. There's
also, a magnifying glass with a question mark, symbolizing the mystery surrounding ADHD.
Other elements include a clock, representing time management challenges, and abstract symbols depicting.
the chaos faced by Pakistani women daily. These symbols add visual interest and depth to the illustration while conveying the struggles of living with ADHD.

Here are some sketches to represent this concept!
The spot illustration shows a frustrated Pakistani woman
struggling to focus, symbolizing the challenges of ADHD.
Abstract shapes in her dress represent the complexity of
the condition.
Additionally, the illustration features Mehendi, a traditional
flower element which is a tradition in Pakistani women
which symbolizes femininity and represents young Pakistani women.

Sketch henna designs with hidden brain puzzles and
surrounding the hand with peacock feathers to show
ADHD. However, Henna is a big part of Pakistani culture,
so, it fits well in my opinion. The hidden brain puzzles.
quietly show ADHD and convey the message indirectly.
I incorporate Peacock feathers add beauty and depth to
the picture, keeping it true to Pakistani culture. I believe,
blending of detailed henna and brain puzzles catches
people's eyes and makes them think about ADHD.

This is the color palette which I opted for the
illustration. I chose warm and some cool tone to create.
visual interest in the illustration and make it visually appealing!
